Who I am

About

I am an Application Engineer with seven years of Java and full-stack experience across Tunisia, Luxembourg, and Japan. My work spans banking, insurance, and card payments, from understanding business requirements and designing APIs to deploying applications and investigating performance issues.

At Rakuten, I help lead cloud migration work alongside my manager and project manager, coordinating with development, infrastructure, CI/CD, and security teams. I design application and infrastructure changes, validate deployments, investigate performance bottlenecks, and improve logging. I also automate local builds and deployments so teammates can get their development environments running more easily.

Outside work, I build products end to end: Slide Agent, an open-source engine for generating editable PowerPoint presentations; Pockito, an app for personal and shared finances; and SubMate, a Chrome extension for subtitle translation.

Chrome extension for subtitle translation on Netflix, TVer, and Prime Video, with on-device and optional cloud translation.

Implemented on-device translation and local caching with Chrome’s Translator API, without a dedicated backend or user accounts.
Designed a shared subtitle-processing core with platform adapters and synchronized fullscreen overlays.
Added optional cloud providers using the user’s API key and localized the interface in English, Japanese, French, and Arabic, with right-to-left support.
